Learn how to get out of your own way in your work with others, to be a better version of you. Benefit from more effective and enjoyable connections.

Find your gold. Use sociodrama to enjoy your life at work.

You’ve probably noticed that despite knowing how to be a part of a meeting or a team, you can still feel internal pressures holding you back. Call them what you like – your inner critic, fix-it voice or scaredy-cat side (we could go on!) – you can easily get in your own way.

Join our 2-day workshop to delve into your personal dynamic when it comes to your challenges in working with others. Explore what holds you back from reaching your full potential.

It’s not every day that you get the opportunity to use a psychodramatic process to safely explore your challenges, and even have some fun along the way!

What’s do you do in a sociodrama?

It’s an action method using spontaneous dramatization and role play. The person in the ‘director’ role selects other group members to play the part of various aspects, or selves, of their psyche to take a deeper look at what’s going on for them during a scenario of a challenging situation.

Sociodramas have a strong improvisation element to them, tapping into what’s happening at a deeper level and working out a way forward.

What’s in it for you to do sociodrama?

Bringing these aspects of yourself to life, whether as participant or witness, develops greater self-awareness, compassion and understanding, so you can more effectively overcome the triggers that typically hold you back in similar situations.

Everyone who has seen a sociodrama in action will tell you that both experiencing and witnessing this process can be incredibly powerful. One of the joys of this process is that everyone learns, whether or not it’s your story.

Imagine immersing yourself for two days in this work!  Each time we run this course, it’s amazing to see the personal transformations for people and the learnings that come from such a deep process.

If you’re interested, please get in touch – places are limited!

What will you learn?

You’ll explore those inner voices (we call them your Community of Selves) that often hold you back.

You have the opportunity to be a participant in one or more of the sociodramas, or if you have some experience in this space, you may choose to facilitate the process while you’re coached in how to do this.

You will come out of the two days with

  • personal insights;
  • a deeper facilitation craft; and
  • greater capacity for spontaneity and creativity within group processes

Our approach to training

Sarah Norton, Associate at the Groupwork Centre and passionate believer in the power of sociodrama

Our facilitator Sarah Norton creates a participatory and flexible learning process which allows time to address your individual supervision needs and issues you face in your workplace. A large part of the course is devoted to your input. You are encouraged to bring real-life examples you want to work on.

Over the years we’ve learned that ‘sleeping on it overnight’ provides you with a much deeper, richer learning experience. The course runs over two days, creating the opportunity to explore questions and variables that often arise after reflection. And we have a bit of fun along the way!

If you have any questions please contact me on 03 9443 8500 or email me here.

Expect BIG learnings, insights and fun!

Warm wishes,

Sarah Norton
